There is a screw in the side of the drum that can be removed to do the flash channel cleaning suggested by @tenngun. I'm not going to improve on the rest of tenngun's suggestions.I use the ready made stuff from totw, and it works really well, so I thought why not try a home brew. I went to blue ribbon products inc out of Indiana they sell 8oz of pure mink oil for $8.50 plus shipping (abt $12.00) I mixed 1/2 oz oil to 1 oz lamb tallow, all by weight put the mix in a container in warm water to blend it.Weighs just over 8lbs, so it's quite handy for a double barrel gun. If you don't already have one, get one with the brass ring that keeps the screw centered in the barrel. Screw it in and pull it.
